Josie is a Clinical Psychologist, fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society's Clinical College and is a Medicare-registered provider of psychology services. Josie has completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology and is embarking on a PhD.

Josie has a variety of experience in various contexts, including inpatient and outpatient mental health services, rehabilitation and recovery units, the community sector in addiction, refugee and migrant services, and also experience in private practice both before and at Sands Psychology. Josie has worked with a range of psychological presentations including stress, low self-esteem, anger, behavioural difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment, chronic health conditions including chronic pain, personality disorders, survivors of trauma and torture, and substance use disorders. She works successfully with people across the lifespan and has a special interest in treating adolescents and adults. She is interested in assisting couples and is also a Board-approved supervisor of provisional psychologists.

Josie's preferred therapeutic approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and she is interested in Schema Therapy, but she prefers to practise based on the presenting situation of the client and so can utilise other evidence-based therapies as is most effective; she is passionate about working with the individual client to establish a safe environment with clear goals and an effective therapeutic relationship.

Josie is currently available Mondays, Thursday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings and offers both face-to-face and telehealth services.
